It is with a heavy heart that I announce that the Kidder County School Board is accepting applications for the unexpired board seat representing the former Tappen School District.
According to Kidder County School Board Policy BBC – Method of Filling a Board Vacancy, vacated seats must be filled at its next regular school board meeting, and must be advertised to the public for a minimum of 2 weeks, but not longer than 4 weeks.
All applications will be reviewed and discussed at the September 10th board meeting. At the September 10th board meeting, the school board will select from the applicants one person to serve in this position until June 30, 2026. This new board member will begin their term at the October school board meeting. The person selected to complete this term must reside in the former Tappen School District.
Applications must be turned into the Kidder County School central office by September 8th at 12:00 PM. No late applications will be accepted.
To get an application, please call or stop at the Kidder County School central office, or email: rick.diegel@k12.nd.us and request an application be emailed to you.
