FFA District Leadership

Kidder County's 2026 FFA District leadership took place in Tappen on October 7 where many Kidder County students won awards.

Sophomores Aubrey Simpson and Layla Fricke demonstrated how to change a flat tire on the side of the road.

“I would have been better if I had more practice with the vehicle,” Simpson said, “I did well because I had a lot of practice,” Fricke said.

The pair also enjoyed playing in the park after their demonstration and meeting new people.

They would both attend district leadership next year if they could do demonstrations again.

Senior Keylee Bodvig competed in the employment skills job interview and earned silver.

“I did very well," Bodvig said. Her favorite part of district leadership was meeting new people. If Bodvig weren't graduating this upcoming spring, she said she would attend again next year.

Junior Landon Eichele performed the parliamentary procedure with Leah Mock, Elijah Svanes, Brody Schoenhard, Daniel Martin, and Mathias Yellowfat. The whole group overall got Bronze.

Eichele said they could have been better with more practice. “Our team should compete again next year because they need more experience,” Eichele said.

Freshman Mathias Yellowfat participated in the FFA creed recitation and earned bronze.

“I think I did well but could've worked on my tempo,” Yellowfat said.

He really enjoyed meeting new people and the competitions and will attend district leadership in the future because he liked meeting new people.

Pete Martin advises the Kidder County FFA and said that the competitors are a great young group of kids and did really well.

In conclusion Kidder County had a very successful FFA District Leadership and had a lot of great kids compete this year.
