Lip syn performance by juniors

The 2026 Homecoming Lipsync took place on September 9 after the homecoming coronation. The lipsync is an activity grades 6-12 perform every year for Homecoming week to see who can lipsync to the best videos.

The junior class won first place, the seventh grade class took second while the senior class took third.

The students are judged on the audience's reaction, if it's under 5 minutes, lipsyncing accuracy, choreography, costumes, and originality.

Some of the skits that students lip-synced were from Barnyard, “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys, the GEICO “Hump Day” commercial, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and more.

Some teachers and students shared their thoughts about the lipsync.

“The kids have fun doing [the lipsync] and have been doing it for a long time even before I started working here,” Principal Michael Wachter said. He also thought that the sixth graders had a nice, organized lipsync, which was his favorite, and agreed with the classes that won.

“I think the lipsync is good because I get to watch other classes' performances,” Sixth Grader Zyanne Peyer said. She also thought that sixth graders did the best and wished they won, especially after one of the judges said they could have done so.

“I really liked the lipsync and hope we keep doing it even if it is a lot of work and does get stressful sometimes,” Sophomore Arianna Lake said. She mostly agreed with who won. Her favorite was the sixth graders’ lipsync because they did really well even though it was their first year doing it.

Even if some people wished their class or a different class won, everyone still enjoyed the lipsync and thought it was fun to watch.
