The cell phone ban in school has affected the students in many different ways that are both positive and negative.
According to the rule students cannot go on their phones during school hours, the rule lasts from students first class until end of the day dismissal. The rule is meant to keep students focused, stop distractions and help students improve in academic performances.
Kidder County High School students shared how the cell phone rule has affected them at school.
“I feel like the rule has affected me in a big way because it's been harder to contact family or get certain work done that needs a phone,” Sophomore Noah Peyer said.
“My concerns are that kids won't be able to contact parents when in need,” Senior Jaylinn Lake said.
“The rule has some concerns like in case people need to text family to have important calls to make,” Sophomore Aubrey Simpson said.
Even though there are some negative responses about the rule there are also some positive and neutral opinions about it.
“The rule affected me in a good way because now I don't worry about my phone going off in class,” Aubrey Simpson said.
“It's boring but keeps students on track,” Peyer said.
“It hasn't affected me too much as a senior because I have open campus and leave early,” Lake said.
Even though the rule is in school to help students, all of these answers have varying opinions about the rule: positive, negative and neutral.
